Understanding Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy includes oral or intravenous medications that are used to stop or slow the growth of cancer cells. Depending on a patient’s circumstances, chemotherapy can be administrated in a patient’s home, or by medical professionals here at our cancer centers.

Countering the Side Effects

Chemotherapy is often recognized for the side effects it can produce. These can include nausea, fatigue, and hair loss. Oncologists can help many of our patients with additional medications and therapies to help manage these side effects and ensure that they are as comfortable as possible as they complete their chemotherapy.
